I am basically and Electrical Engineer with specialization in telecom and Networks.

I wish to become a valuable and self made person. If I have such skill, My work and brain is above every reference or whatever. And I never go for TC or jackpots because money is never above respect in any case, although money is necessary.

The major problem I am facing is that I am not able to find a proper road map for building a super technical career in which there should be active continuous learning for 20 to 30 years so that I may keep on approaching higher salary scales all the time. When I go for some work, there is a variety of designations, some require IT, some windows, some linux, some china equipments, some sql, some Cisco security, some firewall, mostly require all skills together and a very few require networking skills alone. It is not much difficult to learn all of these skills together but I usually give full concentration to specific field and try to reach the expert level in single field instead of diverting My concentration as it's very uncomfortable for me.

The summery is that I require a complete road map a single straight path that should be worthy enough to help me earn higher incomes after some time. For example, PHP gives good money in the beginning but it has a limited value in future as compared to C, OOPS or OS etc. I have no problem working harder, and just need such roadmap/path within My interested area i.e computer networking either LAN or WAN.

Dear, I understand what You mean.

First is CCIE Security (System Professional) and second CCIE R&S, However, that's obvious that You will have to keep on updating Yourself corresponding to the technology updates. But there is no problem choosing either track. High reputed companies usually require experts in individual or related field tracks. MCSE is also a good choice but You will have to learn about Linux and LAN level networking concepts too.

However after experience of 6 to 10 years, be prepared for management because the field may shift from technical to business management professional.

Moreover, You will have to keep up with all technologies in the beginning and after finding a good firm You may choose Your favorite track but keep in view the demand of market because if You go for a less demanded technology, You will have to compete with other experts. I however loved routing and switching interesting in the beginning but when I went to a reasonably better company, I found Microsoft and Linux, system administration to be more interesting. Now I am learning security. So, My dear don't be panic and start from CCNA, certify CCNA and then learn windows, Linux and SQL servers and their configurations. After this find a job and You will be surely able to decide what to do next. There is no rocket science in juniper or china devices, if You know Cisco clearly, You know all. I am leaving a link just for reference to ensure You about high salaries paid to people in this field and what is the average demand scale.

Best of luck and just start with CCNA R&S.

Saiman, bad news. Troubleshooter-Trev is absolutely correct, there is no such road map. If there was, everybody would follow it. What you must do is learn what you need today to do today's job, then move on to the next job, and learn there something new. Where is best to go cannot be said today, because it is changing all the time. So you must follow your nose, your idea of what employers are looking for, where the shortage is, and when to change jobs.

NO such "road map" exists! As you have already learnt. It depends entirely on the network setup of the company that employs you as to what skills they require.

Your idea is unfortunatly ONLY a dream and NOTHING more.
