Multiple Modems/Router wifi Booster?

I have an old house, with thick plaster walls. upstairs is my computer, hardwired via ethernet to the modem(coaxial) that has a wifi antenna. I'm trying to find a way to make the wifi reach the tv and Apple TV downstairs on the other side of the house. With my phone i can see that that entire room is a complete dead zone for wifi and has spotty 3G. There is a coaxial port there, and the fios box works(and has to stay working). There are no Ethernet jacks anywhere on the first floor, but there is a coaxial in the kitchrn(first floor, but other side of the house) Is it possible to setup two coaxial based access points on the same network? I don't want dual wifis, or extra charges or anything like that.

No, you can't extend the network using the coax.



Best solution would be to install multiple Ethernet jacks near your TV. It's not hard to do if you're at all handy, if your not comfortable doing it yourself an electrician can run it for you.



Assuming the device you have is really a wifi router, just get an Ethernet switch. Plug the switch into the Ethernet on the router, then plug all your other lines and PC into the switch.



Connect the Apple TV via hardwire. You can add a "wifi access point" to the other Ethernet jack so you have wifi by your TV.



Wifi isn't the "best" networking technology for consistent signal. I don't recommend wifi for gaming or streaming video. To many things can interfere with the wifi signal.



You're only costs doing this are the installation of the CAT5E and the Ethernet switch if necessary. No extra charge from the provider.
