I was trying to uninstall some junk from my Acer Aspire One netbook. Then I accidentally deleted my wireless network adapter, which is Broadcom Wireless Utility. Now I cannot connect to my router. (I'm now connected to my modem via networking cable.) I'm not sure if I have a restore point. I could try obtain a driver/adapter from my dad's laptop via USB Flash Drive, but I think his laptop has a virus so I can't spread a virus to my computer! Can I download something like Broadcom Wiress Utility? You can answer any other way to resolve this! Any kind of help is necessary, please!!

No. There's no such thing as "deleted my wireless network". It's not something you can delete. It's there, you just can't connect to it.

Possible causes and what to do:

1. You might have accidentally pressed the button on the keyboard that disables the wireless connectivity of the laptop. Usually you will find that key on the F buttons (F1, F2, F3 etc...). Try to look for a symbol that reminds you of a radio transmission symbol or a radio tower or the reception sign in your phone. Press that button and it should be back on. If you pressed it and nothing happen, that's because you need to press it while pressing the "Fn" button at the bottom of the keyboard next to the left Ctrl key.

2. It could be your router wireless option is turned off somehow. You need to access the control panel of the router. Open "Start", then open "Run" and in the window that opens type "CMD" and press enter. if you're on Windows 7, simply open "Start" then type "CMD" and press enter.

a black DOS windows will come up - type "ipconfig" and press enter.

In one of the lines that will appear, probably next to "getaway" - you will see numbers, either 192.168.2.xxx (xxx being a number as well), or 10.0.0.138.

Now go to your internet browser (doesn't matter if Chrome or Firefox or IE, whichever) and in the address line (where you type the address of a website like www...) type either 192.168.2.xxx (the number that you've seen on the DOS window, usually it would be 192.168.2.1 but not always), or 10.0.0.138 and press enter. When asked for username and password, try:

For username - Admin/admin/administrator

For password - Admin/admin/1234/0000

Press enter, the panel should come up. Now on the left side you will see a menu, try to look for "wireless settings", inside you will find an option to activate or disable the wireless option of the router (disabled means he will not let devices connect to it wirelessly, only by cable). It can be something like "enable/disable" or "on/off".

3. Try to disconnect the router from power, and reconnect it after 30 seconds. If it still doesn't work, search for the small "reset" button on the back of it, press if for about 10-15 seconds until all lights go off and on again. Now try to surf the internet while connected to the router with a cable, and you should get a warning that you need to set up your router (as if it just came out of the box) - go through with it, and during the installation you should be able to get the option to activate the wireless option back on.

4. If nothing works, I suggest you call the manufacturer for help, and comment here what are the results, maybe I can help you further.

Good luck!

If you are using a windows Vista, 7 or 8 PC then if you just re-boot windows may re-install the driver for you. You will still have to reconnect to your wireless though.

Run windows update. It usually has the drivers although the wireless utility program will be missing. You can let windows handle the wireless connection.
