I need to wol a computer over a router. When I try to configure port forwarding I get stuck because I don`t know how to fill these fields:
Remote host:
External start port:
External end port:
Internal host:
Internal port:
Mapping name:
I know the port is 9 and protocol is udp
And also, after I configure this, what is the ip that i should write in the magic packet app and what subnet mask should i use. please explain because i don`t know very much about networking.

There are at least two solutions depending on your router model:

1) Public UDP port: up to you, for example, 7777.

Private UDP port: any (port number does not matter for WOL magic packets), say, 7 or 9.

Public IP address: WAN interface IP of your router,

Private IP address: your LAN broadcast address. If you use 192.168.0.x addresses, the broadcast one is 192.168.0.255. If your router does not allow to enter broadcast addresses, try the second solution.

2) Look at your router settings and find something like "Static DHCP" or "IP Address Reservation". This kind of feature allows to bind IP and MAC addresses of the computer you want to wake up.

If so, magic packets can be forwarded not to the broadcast address but directly to your computer IP address.

When you finish your port forwarding configuration you can send magic packet from Internet to your router public IP address. See examples at the below pages.
