I have been given 2 new DNS addresses for our e-mail server from the provider and the user ID and password to get into c panel on an Apache mail server and asked to change it. The guy who took care of this is no longer here (deceased). I logged in and I have no idea what icon to click on to change the DNS. Any one know how?

If you are using a 3rd party to host your site like many of my customers do. You should not be changing this on the Apache Server if the server is running correctly.

You change it on the host site, for instance Go Daddy. Check it out and if you need help send me a message.

How to Change a DNS Server to a Non-Open DNS on Dial-Up

Step 1

Double-click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, or select the "Start" menu and click "My Computer."

Step 2

Click "Dialup Networking." A window will open that displays all of your current dial-up connections.

Step 3

Select the dial-up connection you typically use and right-click it. In the pop-up menu that appears, click "Properties." A window listing your connection options will appear on the screen.

Step 4

Click the tab that reads "Server Types." Press "TCP/IP Settings." Click the radio button next to "Obtain an IP address automatically." Your computer will cease using any open DNS servers that you've added and will automatically begin using the default, geographic region-based DNS server assigned to it by your Internet service provider.

Control Panel > Network Connections > then RIGHT click on the current Local Area Network > Click on Properties > DOUBLE click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and there you will see DNS.
