i need to deploy OS to remote systems using linux(fedora 4) without using boot cd's in the remote sytem... this can be done using RIS in windows 2003 server... is there any possibilities to do same in linux..?...if so please tell me how to do

The closest thing I know of in Linux is the Linux Terminal Server Project. This allows you to create "diskless" workstations that can connect to both Linux and Windows servers. You can find out more about the project here:
It's very likely that you've over written the boot loader for Windows XP. There is a fairly simply solution -- you need to boot XP from an installation disk, select "Recovery Mode", then go to the Windows command line. The command "format /mbr C:" (assuming "C" is your Windows drive) will replace the MBR. Advice beyond that requires more information -- which boot loader are you using (LILO or GRUB), where did you install the Linux boot loader (MBR or partition) and so forth. I'd suggest you find a Linux user's group in your area, or ask this question on the Ubunu forums.
