a computer network is established when least two computers are connected to share their resources by the means of a wire,wireless,infrared,bluetooth,usb etc.A computer network doesn't mean it has to have a internet connection.The computer network is often classified into LAN and WAN.LAN refers to local area connection in which computers from a single location are connected through a hub.Lan is often characterized by connection that are with in the area of 10 kms.WAN how ever is called Wide Area Network,it can be a group of LAN connected together and have a wide geographical distance between them,even between countries(like in international banking).There are also other kind of networks but they are often under the classification of LAN and WAN for eg: WLAN(wireless LAN) is a type of LAN connection that is established through wireless technology.

there are two type of networks

1 intranet

2 internet



1 intranet mean's connecting computers locally in your office i will be accessed in your office

2 internet mean's connecting computers globally like google,yahoo



all this thing's are just introduction in depth there are so many type of connections are there you have find in the internet
