What if I am not connected to the VPN? Can they still track, if it is a company computer?

Hi John,
Without know more details about your company's network configuration, the short answer is, yes. If you are connected to the company's network through a VPN, it is possible that you are using their gateways for your internet traffic in which case it is possible that that traffic is being logged and tracked. That being said, there are a number of 'buts', if the VPN is configured to not tunnel HTTP/HTTPS traffic then the answer would be no. If the VPN is configured to not be the default gateway, then again the answer would be no.
If you're not connected to the VPN, the ability to track internet traffic is hindered. There are, however, a large number of software applications available on the market that offer remote traffic logging. These packages can "call home" to report back to a central logging system.

Yes... while on VPN your internet traffic goes through the company firewall.
While off VPN your Internet traffic is logged by you browser and ISP.

they could see the history if your history files are synched to the company server but most likely they will never know. It is extremely hard to look at history that way. Most do it by installing a proxy server and monitoring the proxy server requests.

I highly recommend using VPNPower in order to unblock internet sites. I've been using them since four years. http://www.vpnpower.net

Of course they can. If you are using their network in any way, an administrator has the resources to log your activity though their router(s).

YES, they can. they log everything that happen in the network.

only if they have installed a keylogger but you will not know that because it will be hidden from you.
