I've recently downloaded the FireFox browser...this just happens with FireFox. Additional imfo: I have a wireless modem. This is what the window says: "Network connections" then, "Choose a Network" then it list 3. AOL, Broadband Connection, and Dial Up connection. Then at the bottom there's some bottons which are: "Connect", "Properties", "New" and "Close". I've selected my internet connection which is the "Broadband Connection", but then it says Error, "The broadband network could not be establish on your computer because the remote server is not responding...blah blah. When I close this window, it then works but, when I go into another site, it comes out again...THE PERSON WHO FIGURES THIS ONE OUT, IS A WELL KNOWLEDGE PERSON, BECAUSE MY INTERNET PROVIDER COULD GIVE AS MUCH HELP.

First -

In Firefox go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Network tab. Click on settings and make the No Proxy \ Connect Directly to the Internet radio button is chosen.

Also click on file and make sure work offline option isn't ticked.

Second -

Go to network connections (in vista its network and sharing, then there there is a shortcut to manage connections on the left. In XP it is in the control panel > network and internet connections > network connections). Right click your Local Area Connection or Wireless connection and select properties. In the list highlight Internet Protocol and select properties. Make sure IP and DNS server is to be obtained automatically. Click on alternate configuration and make it is set to automatic there as well.

While you are in the Network Connections Screen make sure there is no dial up account set up. If there is one, just delete it.

Third -

Right click My Computer and select manage. Click on Services under Services and Applications. In the list to the right scroll down to find Wireless Zero Configuration. Make sure it is set to automatic and started. If this needed to be done, reboot.

I'm not sure what this has to do with Firefox... it sounds like Windows or some kind of network utility that may have been included with your wireless modem trying to configure a connection. Whatever it is, it's probably useless and best avoided.

Try checking your network settings through Windows control panel, you may need a network adapter enabled or you may need the drivers for it. My guess is it's a problem with your wireless or ethernet LAN card, and some wizard is trying to set up a faulty connection for your computer because your network adapter isn't being recognized correctly. It's hard to say for sure from just this information, I hope I've been able to help at all.

My past computer died on Internet Explorer. My computer technician told me not to use Internet Explorer. He recommended Mozilla Firefox. And I've never had any problems since.
