Hacking the school network?

so..heres the deal. today i was in study hall, and was not reallly studying, while on the computer (e.g, on facebook). Then, before i knew it, my mouse started to move and it closed all of my programs and i had no control. Somehow, the librarians in the library have a program that can view and control each computer in the library from their desktop. How can i block this from viewing my computer? or how can i turn it back? thanks! (links are appreciated)

Wow, you're obviously not very technology savvy are you? It's not smart to do that do a school computer. If your school has a program that does that, then the company who makes the program can tell the exact time that the computer is hacked, and from there, it can be known what period it was in, and who was at the computer, and you will get busted, and you could end up having to pay a fine, you'll probably get suspended/expelled depending on the school, and you'll be banned from the computer unit.

The school is likely running on a a serious networks that allow them to tap into any copmuter at any time. Odds are there using a similar bran to ThinkPad allowing them to limit the user's capability on the web. However the fact that they are directly interfering with your computer suggests two things. One they have an automated software that detects non-educational sites such as facebook and then moves the cursor over to the exit button and closes the browser. Or, they are manually monitoring all student activities on the computers. Either way, there most likely using a network with one or more heads to monitor all computer activity. Any how, there are several ways to stop this and most will likely get you expelled if you are caught as they do have the right to do so.

The first method is for wired connections. Simply disconnect the computer from the network but unooking the connection capable from the computer. Typically looks like an internet capable (many actually are the internet capable, depends on how much money your school spends). Then simple attach your own internet device. Disconnected from the network and able to access the internet. However this is risk as I don't know what type of network or how sophisticated the network is. If they are smart they can detect a missing server. Or by disconnecting from the server they can block all information from getting to the computer including your user account. This can be solved partly be creating your own user account in command prompt directly on the copmuter itself, but many school brands such as ThinkPads and ThinkDesc will prevent anyone from using command prompt let alone creating another account with admin access. Which most already come with starting admins to prevent this. In addition, if there is a way of detecting a detachment they will know exactly which computer it is as well as who was on it last.

That is the most basic method I can think of. All other methods will requires a lot more computer experience especially in Networking. Most schools go to fairly decent measures to prevent students such as yourself from even bypassing basic security measures. You need a lot of information to get past this block. Like the port number, the copmuter number, the software brand and much more. And you will still likely get caught.

First you need to know what remote desktop application they are using. They could be using Windows's native remote desktop connection, Or some sort of VNC program. Most likely its software specifically designed to keep punks like you from using school and taxpayer funded computers to get on facebook when you should be studying to prepare your self for real life. Anyway, If the schools network admin has half a clue, he probably has everything locked down at your level so there is nothing you can do about it. Just pray that your actions have not spoiled it for the rest of your classmates, the admin can easily restrict access to sites like facebook. Way to go genius.

Theres many Remote Desktop application programs that they could be using, I used Classroom Spy...It lets one Administrator Watch and Control Many Computer...You Could Block it...You Have Have To Block The PORT NUMBER That The Program Use To Access Your Computer...Just Go To the Firewall Thing...Port Numbers and Anything You See That Seem Like The Program Such As "Computer Spy" then BLOCK IT!!!

that's so creepy! i'm sorry, i don't know how you would be able to hack that, but my advice is to save your personal computer stuff for your home computer. find something useful to do in study hall. i am a college student with a 10-month-old son and i WISH i had some solid time to do my work. facebook can wait.

You cannot block this from your computer (assuming it is a library computer - and not your own) And you cannot turn it back unless the same administration program is on your computer and you know the username and password.

pupils whinge of being bored which potential they're left unsupervised which, in turn, implies the instructor isn't doing his/her interest proper. i'm strongly against no longer purely misuse of the college computers yet in addition misuse of the pupil's time (a stable training and fulfillment in tests ends up in stable skills that may finally earnings the country). in case you attempt to with politeness tell a pupil (begging for proxies) that he ought to he be interpreting, he's in all probability to document you for "insulting" him and Y/A will concern you a contravention email. on the two events a pupil has been so silly as to offer the call of his college in his "tell me some proxies" question, I even have in the present day e-mailed the admin of the college in contact (alongside with the relatively link to the question. In neither case did the college have the courtesy to respond.

it's not network, but system configuration. since the computer is ownd by the library, they want to be able to control what users do with them. sounds like spying, maybe it is a legal privacy issue, but after all they just want the computer to be used for something interesting and useful.

if you are not the administrator of it (and surely you're not!) you can't do too much.

The computer you are using (in study hall) is not your personal property and so you are not allowed to tamper with the settings. If your actions are detected, you face suspension or even expulsion

You can't, if they have the technology to do that then I am pretty sure they have the system protected so that you cannot hack into it.
