All the ports that are labled PoE (Power over Ethernet) or DATA should be just fine to plug your router into. PoE is still a DATA port, just with abilities to give power to network devices that need power that can utilize this feature.

In your modem, make note of your modem's TC/IP configuration and set your router up with a static IP that the modem could talk to. Once you do that, turn off the DHCP service on the modem and let the router take over. You should be good to go.

If your modem requires additional configuration to allow the router to function as your primary gateway, call tech support for the modem and tell them to assist you with that. But usually, doing what I stated above should resolve the issue.

PoE = power over Ethernet, not power over internet.

PoE is "power over internet". It typically requires a small power injector that adds power to a couple of the unused wires in the ethernet cable.
