You can use them both, BUT your office LAN may be vulnerable to attacks from the Internet made through your station(!!), so FIRST TALK TO YOUR OFFICE LAN ADMINISTRATOR! (if there is one, of course!). If you MAY use them both, then I suggest you to assign different network IP-s for the 2 different network adapters, it's much more secure!

If you mean connecting remotely to the office from home, the standard way now is to use a vpn connection through the internet, and if you want full external mail access to have an imap mail connection to the mail server internally. If the company do not run their own mail server it may already be possible to access their external server by IMAP. If you are talking about a connection at the office end to both internet and the lan, this is normally achieved by using the router to also connect to the lan. If you set up 2 connections it can seriously reduce connection speed, as the machine wastes a lot of time determining which connection to use for every transaction.

Here is how I did it. First make sure both computers have an Ethernet (10/100) card/connection. Look in the back for a connection hole like for a phone cable but slightly larger. Buy a Router (Netgear or ....) which usually comes with holes for 4 cables. Connect the Modem to the Router and the Router to the Computers with LAN cables (which have the larger connectors) On Both Computers: DblClk on My Computer and RtClk on C: Clk on "Properties" and enter a Label any name like XPC1 or ... ,mark "Allow ...etc" then clk on "Sharing" mark "Share this folder" and "Maximum allowed", Comment=Default Share, clk OK Now you have to set up and name the Group that the computers are part of and via wich they share resources and contents.

I know you can set up 2 separate networks on your computer. As far as making use of that like say if you were using a bit torrent program there might be a way to dedicate an open port from each network, but the bit client or whatever program you're using would have to be programmed to operate through 2 ports. I don't know how exactly, but I'm sure it's possible.

yes you can. but it will depend on your wireless of how fast it is than with your LAN.

you can use both

i tried mine for internet access and my LAN for office email. both are working fine except that the wireless runs slower.

i suggest that you use LAN for both as it is much faster.

just make your wireless an option just in case you dont have a LAN connection.

Your computer won't like it. Normally one connection is dominate and will block the other one. It is an either/or not a and condition.
