Is there any possiblities to increase the IP address more than 255. Your help is very much appreciated.

The short answer is no.
In most cases 255 is the max a 1 byte value the last octet of an ip address can go.

No it is not possible. I don't know what the Xbox person was talking about, but as far as networking computers is concerned...

no u cannot!!
an ip address is 32 digit no. which consist of 4 octets. i.e. xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx as represented in decimal form!!
so if u caclulate by taking the max limit ..it can only be uptil xxx.xxx.xxx.255 in case of class c!!

you cant have more then 255 but you can start another ip range 192.168.1.1-255 and then bridge the two

Yes but you need to route your traffic through an Xbox playing Halo 2,it does this because Microsoft needed to create many more faster IP addresses to make Halo work properly

You can change your subnet mask from 255.255.255.000 to 255.255.254.000 (or another number in the third octet) and get more addresses on your subnet that way.

you cant.... but u can use a different subnet such as 192.168.1.0 - 255
and if need more then use 192.168.2.0-255
