i dont care if you see something that is private of some of this information..i dont care anymore...i just want it fixed already :( and when i click "diagnose and repair" i get this choices: Automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter :local Area connection" and unplug and reconnect modem one, and reset the network adapter "local area connection" and none of those worked! please any suggestions? thanks for reading and giving some attention :)

First there is no information here that will identify you. The Physical address will tell people that you are using a NVIDIA device and it has a sequence number, not much use there.

Secondly, if your LAN adapter was disabled then you would not see any information on the adapter. If there was no cable connected then it would say Media Disconnected. So you have a connection between the computer adapter and the network device. Now your computer sent a DHCP request to the network device, and timed out waiting for a response, that is why you get the Microsoft default 169 address. If there is no change in the physical connection then it will stay in that state.

The first thing that I would try is disconnect the cable from the port (if you have already completed this, then ignore this part), leave it out for at least a couple of minutes then plug it back in. You should see the connection message, then acquiring address, if it goes to limited capability then it means that the network device DHCP service is not working (not likely) or something is preventing it from giving your computer an IP address.

If you have changed the adapter recently then the network device might be looking for the old adapter's MAC address, so you will have to contact the service provider and as to have it changed, or you will have to make sure that the device does not have a MAC address allow list that does not have your adapter's MAC address, or has a MAC address disallow list that has the adapter's MAC address in it.

It would have helped in troubleshooting if we knew if other computers worked or if yours was the only one connecting to the network device.

Good Luck

You are pulling a 169.x.x.x ip address. This is simply a default internal address when the nic is unable to obtain a valid ip address. It's pretty much the the same thing as 0's or nothing. You are not getting a valid ip address / connection from whatever device your computer is plugged into. Is the computer plugged into a router, your cable modem, or what?

Is the network cable plugged in?
