How do I flash new firmware to the D-link 202 (DCM-202)?

Question

I am trying to flash new firmware to my DCM-202 router. No, I cannot flash it through the IP website thing(I forgot what its called). Anyway is there any other way to flash it. There is this way, http://tinyurl.com/3ntfz but It uses Hyperterminal in which I don't have on my windows 8 computer. I tried downloading the trial online but it still didn't work. Help please.

i think it should work. i gotta d link and i run 3 laptops all running vista one ultimate 2 home Premium and 2 PCs running xp

Here are a couple options:



1. Find a computer (or buddy) still running Win XP and copy 2 files:

- "C:/Program Files/Windows NT" to find “hypertrm.exe

- "C:/Windows/System32" to find “hypertrm.dll”



2. Find a free Hyperterminal replacement app, such as one of these:

- TeraTerm (Free): http://en.sourceforge.jp/projects/ttssh2/releases/

- HyperTerminal (Free Trial): http://www.hilgraeve.com/hyperterminal/
