Usualy it will be a problem with Java, delete all the Java updates except the latest one, then limewire should boot up as usual, if this doesnt work try completely removing Java and redownloading it, Also make sure you have all the service packs for Vista so far, also i wouldnt turn off your firewall, your opening yourself up for attack by doing that =]

I would (if the above doesnt work) suggest uninstalling it and downloading 360Share, its exactly the same as limewire just tends to be faster, looks nicer and is less prone to Viruses, there is even a free version on their website (Link is attached to Source below )

Hope this helps & Good luck trying to diagnose the problem.

First you have to make sure that your computer is indeed connected to the internet, when thats done u open limewire and look at the bottom lefthand corner and wait for the connection to go up, if its not goin up after 10 seconds then u have to go to file and disconnect, refresh the page and then connect then try to connect, uu should be able to connect

considering the fact that u have vista the problem may be simpler than u think, vista's firmware definetly has a better security system and limewire allows u to download executable files which may but rarley contain viruses so vista doesnt allow it any privilages to the internet

i would try going to frostwire.com and downloading frostwire, its the exact same thing as limewire but it has a better security system so it will probably be compatible with vista

I really like Limewire, I'm actually an avid user of it. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. you should get limewire too. It's a good peer to peer software if you have to download mp3, movies, videos or documents. Here you can find a good place where to download Limewire: http://j.mp/1lOKkIv

Limewire is a safe and reliable pogram but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are downloading from it. You always have to be cautious about what you download.

Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.
