systems do vary slightly(firewalls/wireless routers/wired routers etc) but a common feature would be that all must have connection through router and must all share the same network name(xp is MSHOME by default and win2000pro is WORKGROUP) you must also share the folders you want to see across the network and also you must share the C Drive on the server machine/machines. There may be other settings to, but it depends on what systems you are running in the first place.

As you want to use a wireless network hub, your best bet is to use wireless network card on each PC. Use the IP address of same class to every PC (Usually for a home network, 192.168.0.x class C IP address is most oftenly used. Set the default gateway the IP of your wireless hub (I guess it would be a wireless router) so that every PC have access to internet through it. Use the same workgroup for every PC and enable "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Network" on each PC.
Hope that helps you

Do NOT share the C drive, this is the fastest way to trash your system on a network. You can run the network setup wizard on each machine to set the workgroup to the same on each. Then decide which folders and printers you want to make available, right click them and set sharing. I assume you have a router, if not you need to connect the wireless unit to a router, this either connects to your line direct, (modem/router) or to your existing modem (plain router, no modem).

I am assuming your wireless hub (router) is for connection to the internet All you need is wireless adaptors for each Computer USB wireless adaptors are easiest you will need to check what type your router is is it type B or type G or both B/G this is usually either part of the model name or on a label, then make sure you have the same type adaptor

are the 3 going to be wireless or wired?
if wireless all 3 will need wifi cards installed
and the assocaited key for the router for you to logon to the net
you do not mention if your wifi is router / modem or just a router ( and i am sure you mean router not hub ) or is there is a modem ( be it cable or dsl ) ahead of the router

I assume you have a router, every computer also has to be wifi capable as many desktops aren't because they don't need to be. You need to create network users.
