Unable to ping using host name?

Hi ,

I am unbale ping a machine by host name, but with ip address i am able to ping.. OS is win-xp

make sure your WINS server or DNS server, what ever you r using, is working fine

Make sure that the you are pinging the right name any way Download LANguard Network Scanner ,you can easily scan all the computers in a workgroup with there names and ip address.download link is given below:-
