Recently, I have been getting a message saying "Windows has detected an IP address conflict" and that my computer has the same IP address as another on the network.
Keep in mind I am connected to a home network where I am the only one on the network.
I have had my computer for a little over 2 years and it has only started happening recently.
This occurs every several hours and kicks me off the internet for some time when it does.

I have tried numerous solutions such as CMD ipconfig command and such.

Can you offer a solution?

The solution is simple....

Check your router and do a few things:

1: make sure your router has a password and username assigned to it for login purposes

2:if it doesn't - do it immediately!!

3:reset your network. Unplug the power to both modem and router. plug modem power in only and wait for 60 seconds. then plug router power in...wait about 45-60 seconds for full post (power on self test)

4: login to router and make sure there is no dhcp pool set up...you want default settings.

5:check your nic properties and make sure you are using dhcp on your machine

ask your isp to assign you a static ip or let him get a good DHCP logic / server.

Try out some autoconfig settings.

So it can assign ip address automaticaly.

192.168.2.1 is certainly the best for this specific purpose (and also for nearly all cited above) mainly because of its extensive usage, in both typical and even business network systems plus in high speed broadband wireless routers on top of that. 192.168.2.1 is usually applied in setting up the default gateway.
