Hi,

I just bought a new router, it is a D-Link DIR-626L as it says in the title, OK. So I was exploring its router page and I saw you could set it up with a syslog server. OK. So downloaded Syslog watcher and installed it on a Windows XP computer. And now there is no logs being sent from the router to the server.

Any ideas??

Can you tell me then how to setup a syslog server and the router to work properly??

NOTE: The syslog server is in the local network, just in case you needed that info :)

Thanks

Check where the Syslog watcher is storing the logs...

Then, you have to enable the syslog function in the router, pointing to your PC that is running syslog. That PC should be at a static LAN IP address, since you do not want it to change at any time, else router's syslog will break - won't find the syslog server.
