the factory passwords are usually something like admin/admin or guest/guest or something like that, but with netgear is diferent.

anyone around with a netgear router that may remember the factory/default username and password and ip address?

thank you!!!!

Hello nylec; You can reset the password to default buy going to the back of unit and using a bent paper clip to insert and hold in for a few seconds..Before going too far it is best to go directly to Netgear's site and enter your model number and look for "Instructions" as they have a printed version that will help. Default is usually " 1 2 3 4" Also, keep in mind that when you plug your router back in make sure there are no connections for a couple of minutes. Must be patient and give it a few minutes to configure before plugging in any components. This is often overlooked and unit will not recognize any changes..Best to wait 2-5 minuets. Good luck tom

* The router username is always admin

* The default password is password or (for older routers) 1234
