VPI = 0
VCI = 38
DNS settings (primary) 62.24.199.13
DNS settings (secondary) 62.24.199.23
Authentication = CHAP
Encapsulation mode = PPP over ATM (PPPoA). VC-MUX

they say that most ADSL routers sold in UK will be ready to connect to talktalk broadband. Does this meant that the above settings are a standard default in routers. So all I need to do is enter my username and password to connect to the internet?

Yes - these settings will be default in most routers.



Additionally, many routers have a wizard that you use when the router starts up for the first time which have an "auto detect" ability that sets the various settings to the correct value for your ADSL line.
