I am using a desktop which is not WiFi enabled also I am using a wired connection which is not WiFi enable either. So I want to know if there is any device which I may connect with my pc which work as WiFi so I may connect my phone n all. I have heard of USB WiFi adapter but idk if it works the same. I want to stay on my wired connection but I want to connect any device with my Desktop which act as WiFi so I may receive WiFi signal on my computer also that device should forward the signal from my computer as WiFi. I will use the Software Portable hotspot to create the Hotspot.

Will the USB WiFi adapter work for me or suggest me any other option. Also The range should be sufficient enough. WIFI ADAPTER EXAMPLES(http://wireless-adapter-review.toptenreviews.com)

You should just buy a wireless router. It will have a wired connection for your PC, but also broadcast wifi for wireless devices. Then, by setting up appropriate shares on your PC or other devices, you'd be able to access files/music/pics from one device to another.

A router is the device you employ to connect dissimilar pcs to a unmarried ISP broadband connection. A router has a stressed section that connects to the broadband community modem and the "community" section which your pcs connect to. The community component of the router would properly be stressed or prompt or both. The router supplies you each and every and each and every of the smarts on your community. It supplies you a firewall, safe practices, DHCP and many different features required to make you homestead community function. in case you do not have a router, you connect a unmarried pc on your broadband modem and the features the router supplies you come back with the help of the service service community. prompt - in basic terms replaces the wires. it really is no longer a huge technical project - do no longer make more desirable out of it than it really is. the major project to comprehend about prompt is that there are in truth 2 kinds of prompt. Broadband prompt = prompt connectivity it particularly is offered with the help of dash/Verizon/AT&T prompt - which matches resembling cellular phones, i.e. works over a large section. Wifi = IEEE 802.11 community section prompt (it is what your talking about). Wifi coverage is an highly small, like a one hundred foot radius. An get entry to point is a dumb device that enables wifi contraptions (pcs) to connect with a stressed community. once you've a stressed community already, upload an get entry to point to have a mixed stressed/prompt community. you do not upload a prompt router with a stressed router to a community. A USB prompt adapter is a gizmo you plug right into a USB port to enable wifi get entry to for a pc. you would possibly want to apply a wifi NIC (community interface card) or your pc would have a prompt NIC equipped in to it instead of creating use of a USB wifi adapter.

I think you are a bit confused here .. you can not turn your wired PC in to a WIFI device . that is not how it works .. What you can do is put your PC on a wireless network Via a usb wifi adapter and a wireless router , once that is done you can set up a workgroup and share data over the workgroup . very easy to do

Buy a "Wireless Router" ..

Connect the "Wireless Router" to your internet modem.

The Wireless Router sends out wireless signals to all devices in your home(phones, tablets, laptops) so they can all get internet access without a wire.
