I have a Multimedia player with networking. It supports wifi and can act as a network storage device. In the manual it states that all I need to do in insert a wifi adapter in the USB port and I should be good to go. Problem is most USB adapter requires drivers to be installed. When I plug the USB wifi adapter in the media player can't detect it. Any ideas how I can solve this problem? Here are the links to my media player as well as the adapter.

A wifi adaptor evan a usb device is for wireless networking, you need a wireless router for signal you can check in device manager under usb devices to see if you have a problem with the drivers and up date them Multimedia player is for playing music and movies weather from internet or the cd/dvd rom

According to all the websites selling it, it should have come with it's own special USB wifi adapter. Apparently the drivers for it are preloaded.

Most devices like this are actually linux computers. You could try to hook the device up to a wired network connection and access it via your web browser. There may be a configuration/driver load feature available on an device supplied web page.

You may also be able to access it with the TELNET command, once it's available on your network.
