so i've tried looking at similar questions like mines but all the answers dont work so here it goes

i have a router linksys to be exact
and i've tried following the directions to it so that i can have wireless connection for my own on my own router rather than taking wireless connection from someone else in my apartments.

so i followed the directions
it told me to connect a network cable to my laptop to the router
and i did
and it still didnt work
i mean didnt even get the wireless connection, which should be able to connect when i connect the network cable

so than i tried to use other methods but they ALL dont work

so basically my question is
can someone please help me connect my laptop to my pc network wirelessly?

I am not sure I totally understand but here are a couple of things. I am making the assumption you have a modem and can hook your laptop to it and get a net connection. When you hook the laptop to the router via a cable that should be to setup the router. If you followed the directions on the setup, then remove the cable from the laptop and connect it back to the modem. If you are running Vista go to Control Panel, Network and Sharing,Connect to a Network. You should see the network you created. Hopefully you can connect to it!

Who is your internet service provider ? ( ISP). You should call them and they will help you. If you aren't paying for service provider probably your linksys will not work.
