Ok so im basically a complete dummy when it comes to online connections and speeds etc. And i have some questions that will make a few of you out there go "Oh god" haha but bear with me :P

So i have the BT Broadband Option 3 at the moment and my parents are paying up to £60 a month which is too much. Now i was looking at option 2 on the BT website and they say in the details that you can have "40GB monthly Broadband usage" now here comes a possibly silly question, does that mean after using 40GB worth of internet time that i get kicked off the internet?? or can i go on still whenever i want for however long i want? Its mainly for the Xbox Live and Online gaming on the PC, so if i can only have a certain ammount of time online this would suck :P

Any help here would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks ;)

Try this link from BT to check how much data you are actually downloading on a daily basis.

You may have to run this on both the laptop and the PC to get a more acurate figure.

You may be able to get a better figure by logging onto the router. Be careful not to change any of the settings though.

40Gb is a lot of data, even if you are playing games.

Have fun.

Why not switch to Virgin Media's 50Mb option? Unlimited, no caps, no restrictions.

It means that once you reach 40Gb you will be severely restricted with Download and Upload speeds or get charged for every Gb extra you use.

After you have used the 40GB,

you will be charged for each gigabyte you go over.

the charge is £1 per Gigabyte with a minimum charge of £5.

all this info is available at the bt website.
