I have a tplink wireless dongle and a Packard bell desktop tower, would a USB WiFi dongle work with it? I have installed the installation disc on to the PC and plugged the dongle in, entered the right pass code but it says "could not get settings from netgear" "verify the device pin, ensure the device is turned on and try again" I have done all of those things. Any help from someone who's good with computers? :)

it depends on how old the USB dongle is and what version of windows you have, if you have the right version of windows that the dongle is made for then it should be working just fine just by plugging it in and typing in the right password if you set one up in your wireless router

if your dongle runs with windows XP and you have say windows 7 or 8 the usb dongle will not work right even with the drivers that came on the cd

is the dongle picking up your wireless router???

might be the drivers for the dongle, try just plugging it in without the drivers installed most of the time windows will install updated drivers for that piece of hardware

the fundamental answer is helpful your surfing journey sticks out by way of fact an identical. optimal routers and wifi dongles/adapters run at 54Mb/s (fifty 4 Megabit consistent with 2d) till you have a connection swifter then 54Mb/s you will see no distinction. From very own journey i do have a tendency to be wakeful that themes are incredibly swifter once I actual have a cable plugged up my comps *** ( surfing and downlaods) yet i will max out my connection on the two prompt and under rigidity. For the classic individual there will be no distinction what so ever.
