My internet connection is randomly discconected and I can't figure out the source or the problem to this?

OS? WIN XP

Error massage ? link to "name of connection" fail ( not even an error number or a reason)

FIREWALL? yes - zonealarm

antivirus up to date ? yes

connection type? cable

modem type ? terayon tj715 ( the pc and the cable lights stay on parmanatly while I disconnect)

solutions tried ... changed from l2tp protocol to pptp - didn't help although pptp was more stable

this problem presist and is realy annoying can anyone help ?

I had the same problem. The cable from the house to the service box at the pole was bad. Once they (Cable Company) ran new cable the problem went away and my lag was reduced for an average of 215ms to 75ms.

You should be asking your isp this question.If your state is connected and down..disconnect.Go to basics..advance.easy set up..wizard will install all..but then press save all.If you still have the problem is outside your control and you should contact your isp.
