There are possible chances that the wireless interference in and around your room. look out for any devices which may interface in the range of 2 GHZ. . . Cordless phones , Microwaves oven , TVs , Radios etc.

Try changing the wireless channel to 1 , 6 or 12 to get the best output

Even though you, your mom and you aunt seemingly have "the exact same laptops" they may not be the same:

1. The software they run may be different (from firmware (BIOS) to drivers to Windows updates). Since you probably can put them side by side, it should be easy to compare if such software is at the same level.

2. There could be differences due to electrical tolerances that affect sensitivity. You can again perform a side by side test to isolate whether it's your computer or your location: Do all three computers show the same signal strength? Do the other computers also have problems when used from your room?

That wouldn't solve that issue, but it sounds like the wireless card, or the internal antennas on your laptop are not functioning properly, also I would recommend securing your network, because people can sit in their cars and monitor your traffic.
