I want to deploy LDAP server on linux and remove Active directory 2003 server ........ can i have all the users and group in LDAP server with PASSWORDS

Windows does not store passwords - it stores hashes that are calculated and referenced when you enter a password. There's no way I know of to transfer those hashes into linux, but you could use a password cracking program and try to crack the passwords of your users.

You can set up the Ldap, using that to scure the Samba Windows server. This can then be used to tun domain security. This is true Ldap security, not the badly non-conformant copy from active directory.
