i have a DNS error coming up?

ok i have a Playstation 3 and i managed to get it online with the help of a computer man he wired up the modem to the computer then the computer to the router because my Ethernet port is damaged and it worked i played it for for a days and stuff and my internet when down so i couldn't go online without it cutting out or being to slow then a month went by and the internet went back up, then my gf knock out the usb ports at the front so i had to disconnect the computer open it up and fix it but now i've put it back together the playstation 3 can find the router but it can't connect the internet with it is there some thing i have to type on the computer for the playstation to work cause on the playstation 3 i just go to the easy mode not the custom it should work but it doesn't it keeps coming up with DNS Error please help.

DNS or Dynamic Naming Service is used to allocate IP addresses, though normally handled automatically - errors normally indicate that the DNS server is unavailable. This might be because your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is down, or your line currently has problems. Try waiting for a short time for the service to come back up. If this fails contact your ISP they will be able to assist you further.

this can also occur if you have the wrong DNS address, i suggest you ask your isp for the DNS address. If you get the correct DNS address from your isp and input it then everything should be fine.



Note also that many users put in a DNS address when it should be set to "obtain DNS address automatically". So you might like to try that first before asking for a DNS address. If you set it "obtain address automatically" and it still does not work then ask for the DNS from your isp.
