Im having trouble with signal strengh and lower speeds in the bedroom of our apt. Time Warner provided a Ubee router that sits ~75-100ft. away from the bedroom on the same level but it is an old house and perhaps lead in the walls contribute to lost signal strengh. Without moving the router closer, what would be my best bet for a better signal? I would be glad to buy larger antennas for my current router or swap out the ubee entirely for a higher end router like a Linksys e4200 if I knew it would make a significant difference. I assume the range on the TW provided equipment cant be great on signal range. Thank you.

Read this end to end and take whatever remedial action is required:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/setup/wirelesstips.aspx

There is no better advice on wireless available on the net.

Best of luck with it, Bob.

You can try changing the wireless channel on your router.

But if wireless does not work well then use Homeplugs. They are not expensive and always work.
