I want to know what I need to buy in order to have wireless in my room from just my lan internet connection? We have a wireless router and a lan router but I cannot get the wireless in my room.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Harry

Maybe you did not word your question to well. From what it is sounding like you DO have a Lan connection (network cable) running into your room but you want to use the wireless ... on a laptop or Ipad or something instead of plugging in but the signal is not reaching you?

If that is the case you need a wireless access point. An access point is essentially a wireless router that does not assign IP addresses. In some cases you can use a router so long as you go into the system and turn off the DHCP. This will give you your own wireless in your room thru your lan connection. Just remember you can really only have one unit in your network that assigns ip addresses or you will have problems.

if that is not the question you were asking, than add more detail and i will attempt to answer your actual problem.

You need to share the internet connection. This can be done via internet network sharing connection if you are using Windows.

The computer that connected via the wireless router need to be tweaked. It's a bit tricky though.

you like a adsl modem router to establish a wifi server then you definately can the two plug a cable into it or talk with it applying wifi, the broadband connection has no longer something to do with XP it particularly is efficiently a severe velocity telephone line
