I am trying to network 2 computers with little luck so far. Can I connect them through the parallel printer ports. This is what I have been trying to do but I can't get either computer to find the other one. If I can't connect them through the LP printer ports what better way is there? One computer has an ethernet jack one does not. Both have USB ports and both have 9 pin port jacks. I haven't tried any other connections because all I have right now is a serial port or parallel port printer cable. Any suggestions? Thanks.

A nasty slow way is to use a Null Modem cable, but that is pointless these days

What you can do to connect both computers, is to do it to via Ethernet to do this you may have to purchase a 10 base T network card for the PC without the ethernet connector. You will of course now need a lead to link both PC's ethernet to ethernet. Depending on the Operating Systems you can now create a Peer to Peer network linking just the two PC's together.

To link more you would need a small hub which will typically link up to 4 computer and have an uplink for a Modem.

some tips here

Nobody uses serial ports anymore. Printers are so cheap you'll wonder why you waited to get better quality.

i guess if one of the computer doesnt have ethernet jack, u cant make it connected to other computer.

But u can use the printer for both computer even the computer doesnt connected to each other. There is a device to make it.
