My boss asked me to set up a wireless connection on his new computer and I can't figure this thing out. Please help!!! The laptop is a dell inspiron. I looked for a switch to cut on wireless but couldn't find one. I'm trying to connect to a previously existing network, but it doesn't even detect the network.

Is it a wireless network or is there wifi at the location?

A laptop cannot connect to a wired network without an ethernet cable.

Go to Start>Settings>Network Connections to make sure that the wireless is enabled. You would right click on the wireless adapter to make sure.

If you don't see a wireless adapter there, you don't have wireless on the laptop. You would need to buy a wireless PC Card
