2009-05-24 18:27:35 UTC
I had my default search engine google even when I typed some word in the address bar , google would come up with the search results, since yesterday it changed to yahoo, I like my old google, but know when I make back my google as default search engine, the adress bar won't work as a search bar, but when I switch it to yahoo to be default it does. What is going o on? Any Idea? the weird thing is that it's been ok for months but it just happened yesterday!!

P.S : I use Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP Meia Center with Service Pack 3

Try going to tools - internet options -

You will notice a box ( top center labeled on the right just above it)....delete what is in this box labeled "Home page"....

Then, on a line by itself type "Google.com" ( if this is indeed the site you want as your home page)...

It should trouble shoot your little problem ( if you used the link on said websites to set their page as home to begin with )...if you did this manually to begin with; well then I am stumped lol.

Easy. On the upper right hand corner (below the X) is a small triangle pointing down.

Click on it and select Find more Providers

Click on Google and check the box that says make Google my Default search engine

Also get wise and download Firefox and make it your Default browser(you will have both Firefox and IE7)

Run all your homestead windows Updates. additionally, run by something you need to have put in with the aid of fact that your have been given the notebook. I had this concern for a whilst and found out it became the Yahoo application that put in with my DSL provider. I bumped off the Yahoo application and the project went away.

Write down this code in a note pad...

@ECHO OFF

ECHO Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 >1.reg

ECHO [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] >> 1.reg

ECHO "Start Page"="http://www.google.com" >> 1.reg

regedit /s 1.reg

Save this file as name.bat , take care to keep file type as all files... Use save as option...

Then run this batch file, it will change your start page to google or any other desired site....
