I get that is is an encrypted network using a public wifi but these are my questions...
-If I setup a VPN on my iphone from home(using my wifi and computer) and turn is on let's say at McDonalds wifi, will it use my home connection to make sure it is secure?
-Can a VPN access a home WIFI on the road.
-Does the home VPN secure only that network and will have to make a new VPN for every network I go to?
-How do you setup a VPN on iPhone without using an app?(like what do I need? ei: IP address)
-Does a VPN work on 3G,4G, and LTE

Can you answer all parts at once thanks.😉

Well a VPN is a secure "tunnel" created between two LAN networks (your home network and MCD's) to virtually "link" them using a WAN network (the internet). It connects to a VPN server which will give you a new IP adress much like a proxy. VPN's are used by companies as they are highly secure in their connection, but the VPN server can see exactly what pages you're loading and with a bit of easy hacking can snoop your packets, stealing credit card information.

To answer your qestions:

1. No. You'd be using the McD internet to access a VPN server (which you have to manually setup) to connect to the internet. If you want to be able to access files from your home network I recommend looking into using Apache/WAMP.

2.Basically the same question as before, no. You will not get access to that network, you will only get access to the internet. You cannot use a vpn to connect to your home network.

3.A vpn doesnt secure a network. It secures the connection between the device youre using (iPhone) and the VPN server.

4.Setting up a VPN requires a VPN server which can be run off any computer. But you'd have to use a VPN app (I have no clue if one even exists for this purpose) to connect. The computer would also have to be on in order for the the VPN to work.

5. All network connections are supported.

Basically, look into setting up your own server/cloud, there will be slight security vulnerabilities but if youre careful they should be easy to avoid.

A VPN is considered as the best online security tool to deal with the problems of cybercrimes and online surveillance by the governments and their spy agencies. With minimum VPN encryption of 128-bit and maximum of 2048-bit, all your data remains safe from all the evils of cyber world.

A VPN protects you on two levels, first by cloaking your data transmission on the internet through VPN encryption and then tunneling all your data through a VPN server. The resultant network is an impenetrable network connection that gives you a barrage of benefits to cater to your internet needs.

How Does a VPN Work?

Utilizing a VPN connects you to a third-party that functions as an intermediary channel between you and the internet.

The VPN encryption takes place when all the data that you send/receive is utilized by protocols (data sharing methodologies designed specifically to share data securely), and serve as a barrier in between you and the internet.

The result: VPN encryption keeps your data safe, while the data tunnel created (due to the third-party’s presence in the middle) keeps you virtually invisible from the rest of the internet – and yet fully connected.

Data is transported through VPN tunnels by using headers. A header is nothing more than a piece of information that is meant to identify the start and end points of a data packet that has been encapsulated at the start of its transmission. These packets are encrypted by VPN so that they become indecipherable to any third parties that may look to intercept them but do not have the encryption keys necessary to decipher the data.

VPN = Virtual Private Network

i am no network techie but from what i've learn VPN use to fake your ip address by using their ip or any other server's ip.. some may even provides u different proxy, and it was usually use to unblock restricted website for some countries like porn sites for example.. other than that each VPN softwares claim that their products will use encryption method therefore it will reduced the transferred data or hide it from your local ISP = Internet Service Provider thus will set the quota limitation free.. i never use paid one but my friend did and it is true but not until when some dumbass report about it to ISP..

to answer your question..

-not unless u have your own VPN server at your home so u could us McD's wifi while using VPN settings sets to your home VPN server (ip address proxy etc) but it depends on how either McD or your home server has the right settings.. some ISP block VPN.. so idk whehther McD allows it..

-no VPN isn't a device that can connect to your router at home.. but i dont actually understand your question, what i can say is u can use wifi or any other internet plan while use proxy settings of your VPN server at home if u have one

-it will secure any network that if the device u use to surf has been set its VPN.. means an iphone has been set its VPN u can use ur iphone on different network without having to setting up again the VPN but it really depends on the network u trying to connect to they could have block VPN services..

-i never had done setup a VPN without a software cuz it is difficult when u have to find the one that works..

-VPN works on Network connection.. isn't that 3G,4GLTE were Network?

A VPN is a network that uses a public telecommunication infrastructure, such as the Internet, to provide remote offices or individual users with secure access to their organization's network. A VPN ensures privacy through security procedures and tunneling protocols such as the Layer Two Tunneling Protocol ( L2TP ). Data is encrypted at the sending end and decrypted at the receiving end.

A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network, such as the Internet. It enables a computer to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if it were directly connected to the private network, while benefiting from the functionality, security and management policies of the private network. This is done by establishing a virtual point-to-point connection through the use of dedicated connections, encryption, or a combination of the two.
