Kim Komando is correct. The only workaround is using Remote Assistance. From the link below:
Q. The local computer screen locks when a user is connected remotely. How can I get more than one connection to a computer running Windows XP Professional?
A. If you want to have more than one person simultaneously use a computer running Windows XP Professional, you could try Remote Assistance for collaboration and support scenarios. Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services allows multiple users, as will Windows Server 2003, when it becomes available.
More info on Remote Assistance is available at the same link.

yes, the computer you're trying to connect with, has to be logged off, for that person's account, won't affect others'
that's the way it designed. I believe MS does it for a purpose, that whileyou're logging into your account, no one else can use that account, even they know your password to get in,
as you already knew, remote desktop required you to have a password for that account in order to use the Rmote desktop

the computer is firewall protection which is not allowing the other to login, or if wrong password access it will log off the user,
many customer are using the Remote desktop in cyber cafe to access the company desktop

you could likely get an previous CRT computer screen affordably on-line. I absolutely have one it really is in simple terms sitting in storage. At artwork we had stacks of previous ones that still worked. anybody went to flat liquid crystal show reflects. i do not imagine you could connect the computer computer computer screen to the computer computer. you could connect a operating laptop or computer computer screen to a operating laptop or computer computer.
