in a cmd prompt, enter ipconfig /all

As stated, you can go to your start button and follow these easy steps:

Start--run. Type "cmd" and click "ok"

In the black screen type "ipconfig /all"

You can also accomplish this by right-clicking on My Network Places and going to "properties". Next scroll to Internet Protocol tcp/ip. Next click properties. If you have a static IP and DNS address, it will be shown there.

Because you are setting up a router, your ISP should provide or dictate these settings. For example, if you are setting up your Local Area Network, you typically configure the router for PPPoE, Automatic or Static. My router looks something like this:

Internet Setup Automatic - DHCP

Network Setup 192.168.2.1

Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

DHCP Server Enable

Starting IP Add 192.168.2.100

Max. # of addresses 50

Leave DNS blank

Hope it works for you!

Most of these are dynamically assigned except for the subnet mask. My router is connected to a cable modem and the cable ISP assigns the IP and DNS addresses.

I formerly had a static IP whose value came from the ISP. Try to do a release/renew cycle and see if the ISP will populate these fields. You can communicate with your router directly with a browser, as you are already doing.

Setting up your router for internet:

a) if internet is DSL, configure WAN for PPPoE.

That is how you can enter your DSL username and password

b) if internet is cable, configure WAN to obtain ip automatically or use DHCP service

When you use PPPoE and obtaining ip automatically, IP address, Subnet mask, default gateway, DNS1 & DNS2 will be automatically configure in your router.
