You need to buy a wireless adaptor for the back of the xbox so he can play it wirelessly. You should be able to buy one from game or any other video game shop.

He can use his xbox through the wireless router, but you need to buy the xbox adapter for $100. For video game consoles, I suggest staying away from wireless. Wireless can product lag and signal drop out due to interference from other wireless devices close by. The interference could even be from your neighbors. My suggestion is take a look at these links:

In other words, you can use powerline to connect your xbox to the router using the electrical wires in your house rather than going wireless. It works great.

I managed to get this to paintings once, in spite of the undeniable fact that it develop right into a finished nightmare, *SO* not worth it. You gotta get your pc's prompt adaptor to ahead on your laptops ethernet port, then you definately have loads of of firewall settings to modify on your pc, and probably on your prompt router too. also it calls for a guide setup of your xbox IP etc. i might want to do it back in spite of the undeniable fact that it takes a -lot- of fannying round, or perhaps then you definately're nevertheless operating with an impure prompt connection which will basically be crappy for x-stay. most suitable option: get a stressed connection straight away from modem/router to xbox 2d most suitable option: get an xbox prompt adaptor crap decision: internet connection sharing through your pc

Yes he can use the router, but remember routers are only designed to run one thing at a time
