Which one of these routers are better in terms of performance and range and also reliablity.
The Asus RT AC-66U or Netgear AC1750 R6400.I am trying to decide which one of these would be better

The ASUS is probably the better router for wifi. However, If yo need to connect a USB3.0 device to the router then the Netgear has a 3.0 USB port. Useful for a remote drive connection.

Most distance reviews show the ASUS is faster and stronger further from the router.

So pick the one you like. They both are good solid boxes.

I have a couple of ASUS units in a commercial environment and they just work.

Both are solid routers. I would buy the cheaper of the two

The Asus is fasters in AC speeds



But in features I would say Asus as well but not sure if that's what your looking for in features.
