Why does Windows 7 detect my network but Vista doesn't?

Did a System Recovery on my laptop which put Vista back on but also provided a spare partition on which I installed Windows 7.
The Windows 7 SetUp detected my network immediately, but Vista can't seem to see it - claims there are no networks.
Is there a solution to this problem as I do like to pop over to Vista occasionally even though Windows 7 is running great.

This problem is caused because vista has a big problem called C.R.A.P. To fix this problem reboot the computer with the windows XP disk in the cd drive and follow the on screen prompts.

Basically 2 reasons: incorrect or no network drivers installed in vista and network discovery disabled. So, check both, in control panel/system/device manager/hardware (all devices are clear, with no red or yellow sign over them, otherwise reinstall those drivers), and in control panel/network and sharing center enable network discovery. Good luck!
