why can't i access www.google.com?

when i try to open www.google.com, internet explorer tells me that there is no page that can't be displayed.but i can ping www.google.com successfully.

my ISP is china telecom. can someone give me some ideas? i am in a hurry!

The chinese are filtering content on the Google server, kindoff.



What you can try is to BYPASS them.



In your address bar type this (removed)



Now once the page loads, you will see a bar similar to the address bar having htp://lycos.com written. Edit that bar and type www.google.com and press enter.



Or else if you dont want to do so click this link .( IT MAY WORK or else you will have to do the complete procedure given above)

The Chinese filter content to/from Google. Their servers or network are probably down.



I'm sort of guessing here.
