I am working in an office where I have two types of internet connection 1) Lan Internet connection (ethernet) 2) Wi fi internet connection.
We have six computers out of five computers have wifi internet connection and sixth computer have lan internet connection to which printer is attached. Now we have shared lan connection to one of the five computers. So one computer is having lan connection as well as wifi connection and he can access the printer. So two computers (1. lan connected 2. lan and wifi connected). Can other four computers who are having only wifi connection can access printer? Please guide me.
Thanks.

Sure , the rest of the four computers can take prints from LAN printer, but those four computers cannot access printer.

What you have to do is "share" the printer that you have added in the computer which has both wifi and LAN. I tried it and it worked for me, except that I used Mac

Hi Santhosh

You haven't provided the printer information & OS , you described about LAN .What type or kind of printer & OS you are using , simple and large printers are available in Laser-jet & Ink-jet.

Considering the limitation on the description you provide these are the below methods to connect a printer in Windows OS.

1. Connect the printer directly connected to the PC which is having LAN & Wi-Fi, if not so.

2. Configure the printer with exact driver in this PC as Local Printer.

3. Take a Test print from this PC once or twice after shutting down.

4. When point 3 is fine , go to Control Panel and Printer Folder

5. See the printer visible/available or not.

6. In Network ( Control Panel) add Protocol -->Microsoft File & Printer Sharing ( restart PC)

7. Go to Printer and Right Click Share the Printer( if required rename it as Shared Printer)

8. Note down the System IP address and Share name.

9. Select the system from which you want to configure the Printer( Delete unwanted Printer in the system by looking in the Printer Folder of Control Panel)

10. Go to RUN Command --> Type : \\ IP address \Printer Name - exactly ( The printer appears in Dialog Box)

11. Double click the printer --> it would ask for Installation proceed

12. Repeat this in rest of the machine.

Your a pair of million/2 top. as quickly as you share the printer, the call of the printer would be publicized on the community. Your computing gadget must be a member of the comparable workgroup because of the fact the computing gadget it fairly is sharing the printer. Then upload the printer and choose community printer, browse the workgroup for the printer call that replaced into created via the 1st computing gadget. you will nevertheless ought to install the drivers for that printer onto your close by computing gadget.

Yes its possible assuming they are on the same workgroup and Subnet.

Find the IP of all computers, the only thing that should be different is the last set of numbers.

For example:

PC 1: 192.168.1.13

PC 2: 192.168.1.15

etc...

On the computer with the printer, right click on the printer and click share.

Go into the Computer properties and find the computer name. (right click on Computer or My Comptuer and select properties)

Go to each computer click Start - Run (or Win+R) and type in \\THE_COMPUTERNAME\

You should see the printer, if you right click and click connect that should connect you.

Keep in mind, if you are using different OS's, you may need to download new drivers on the extra computers.
