see there are two type of address static and dynamic adress
static address are those which are manully given in ur internet protocol and they donot change with time
dynamic address are those which are automatic and are not give manually by service provider so when u start ur comp it gets itself a ip which is within the range of ip provided by the service provider
so if bsnl has not give u any ip then it itself will acquire ip within the range if they have give ip then there is some problem with it

Hi
u need not to take care for your ip address, because its normal thing. You are not provided a static IP, so whenever you connect to internet, it will give you a new IP. Most of time you connect to internet will give you a new ip, If you are using internet constantly upto 7-8 hours, then also your ip address will be different at the time of disconnection from connection. This is called DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) where ip changes at some given time. this is handled by BSNL itself.
so just enjoy your surfing without being worried about your IP

Many Internet service providers use dynamic IP addresses for their home users. They get more customers on their network that way -- no IP addresses are assigned to disconnected devices/computers. Also, it discourages people from running web servers that should be on their more expensive business plans. BSNL says:
"IP addresses could be dynamic (that typically change with each session) and static (that are permanently allocated to you). BSNL Broadband provides both dynamic and static IP. However the static IP is given only in Business 5000 and Business 9000 plans."
There are valid reasons non-business people want to know their IP address, such as connection problems requiring port forwarding (for Limewire or something like that) or remotely accessing your computer from another location. There are workarounds available for many of these scenarios that you can search for, or ask about here, with more details. You can also try to figure out a pattern - mine only changes weekly, unless I have to restart my DSL modem/router.
Also, there are many programs/applets that will allow you to see the current IP address on your desktop, or in the status bar of your browser. I use a Firefox extension that will let me know as soon as my address changes - see 2nd reference below.
Hope this helps!

Ok, this is a normal thing....A good thing however I am on BT and on the Homehub(Router) Page there is an option to make a static IP address this will keep it as one IP address.
And everyone will be happy but from personal experience i think having a static IP address is not better than a changing one.
You asked Why,...? It does it by default, a pretty simple answer.

Well IP ADRESS keeps on conflicting as it connect with a satellite nearby your place but if due to any system operation fail it will change its IP address to the next station of satellite. For a better result Go to your internet protocol and choose obtained IP address automatically..it will choose its better IP by itself..keep everything obtained automatically. Go ahead

Your ISP is using dynamic IP addressing.
=
Computers receive a dynamic IP address (think temporary phone number) for the duration of that Internet session or for some other specified amount of time.
-
Dependent on your ISP, a new IP address may be assigned when you reset your broadband modem.

it happens when you reboot your modem, every time when you power on your modem you will get the new ip. If you donot want that your ip should change then ask bsnl to give you the static ip which will cost you. You have to check the cost from bsnl people.
thanks

It could be because of the dynamic IP settings, i hope vsnl would have not given you any static IP.

Your ip address is not changing automatically. You are just selectively dyslexic and/or schizophrenic.

It is possible and it is done by you Internet service provider. it's not a bad thing.
