The link below shows an option inside my router homepage to configure IP filtering, but sites such as Youtube, Facebook...etc have a dynamic IP address, and I was not able to block it since their ip keeps changing.

I have inserted the IP address of the user that I wanted to block at the source field, and the IP address of the website to banned at the destination, and I didn't specify port numbers, I doubt if things are configured improperly.

I wonder if my router have the ability to block websites or do I have to use a specific software to control that router from my connected laptop, and then to block certain websites. I need a solution plzzz.

This can be done easily by implementing a software firewall in each computer, you can also do this on the router if you like to make sure the users can't access the sites. Make sure when blocking the site you use a URL or web address (this should block the IP address also if it does change). When blocking the sites and filtering it make sure you password protect the software and also run the users on a limited access so they can't shut the program down through the GUI or command prompt (I wouldn't worry about that too much only advance users can do this).

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Run the program in each computer, it will be very difficult for the users to to work around this especially if they are running through a limited access account. What i would suggest if you are afraid to re-install again then why don't you create an image of each computer, i know this sounds like a lengthy process but this will benefit you i guarantee you. If you ever run into issues later on with the computers you can slap this images back on in a short time and have the computers running up again and also have those software firewalls already configured.

Good luck :)

You may have better success by setting up security protocols inside of windows.

If you log on as the administrator, you can block web addresses to any of the users on the network, but leave the address open to you, if desired.

This is quite common on office networks, where they ban you from using certain web sites, like utube and the like.

I am no expert on doing this, but someone on here should be able to guide you.

hi, I save my e mail open and block no one; even people who worry or tell me off. I comprehend the place you're coming from yet then back many blockers here have a crybaby recommendations-set that I disagree with what you're saying, wahhhh, i'm taking my marbles and going domicile! working example the final guy or woman who blocked me did so because of the fact I mentioned that Cleopatra replace into not black Sub Saharan as she theory yet Macedonian from the Ptomely family. I went directly to show out that there replace into an Afro - Centrist prof who gave a huge public lecture approximately Aristotle stealing all his recommendations from the Black Africans who had it interior the Library of Alexandria... not finished until eventually nicely after his death. previously that a creationist blocked me for protecting that God will ask how believed and behaved in this existence; not ask if earth is 6400 or 4.5 billion years old or if guy walked with dinosaurs. i would not try the router as mutch as i would try to block the websites on the specific computers because the router can be bypassed with a proxy
