I go to a University and everything worked when I got back from break, but in my dorm my lan connection to the network does not work. All wireless works tho. The university uses cisco clean access agent, to make sure you have the proper stuff on ur comp when you connect. do you think it does not work because of the heightened security on vista? or that the cisco program is not yet compatible with vista? (keep in mind it comes out for retail on january 30th) or do I need to install specific protocols that do not come preinstalled? or is there someway I have to set up a lan network, that is not normal on xp?

Hello there. I don't know if this link will help you, so here it is .. bits of the website pasted here for your enjoyment ...

Computers running Microsoft Windows are required to install the Cisco Clean Access Agent. Unsupported applications includes Windows Vista beta .. however ... the Windows Vista final release is supported, though there are some settings changes that are needed to be made .. see below link

Hope this helps :-)

I have been using windows vista's product release since November, and I have not been experiencing any problems with my cisco routers/switches. Make sure that you are using the correct network IPs, make sure that you have it on auto if need be.

I am not sure of the layout of your school network, more info I can explain more.

"Not working" is too vague. It could be any of the problems you described, or it could be a bad ethernet cable. Some error msgs and/or steps you've tried may help diagnose the problem.
