I just bought a new CPU from hp to get rid of my old desktop. I plugged it in and when i started everything is OK but there is no internet. It was searching for Ip but nothing just a yellow exclamation mark on bottom right.
I hav AT&T high speed internet, the modem is connected to router and the router is wired to PC. My other two laptops are working fine(wireless). What i did is everything else is same i just took my old PC and put this new one at its place and hooked up the wires the same way but nothing. I bypassed the router made it directly to modem changed its driver but nothing. I even sent this back and they have send me new one but i am having the same problem it is not getting the ip. It has Windows 7 and AT&T is providing dynamic IP.
Another thing i turned off wifi on one of my laptops and took the lan wire from my pc and put it in the laptop and my laptop found the ip address and get connected to internet i took the wire off hooked to pc but nothing it searches and then says no internet access.
I troubleshoot it, and then i got this message "Local Area Network cannot find a valid ip address".
I called Hp and AT&T but nothing.
Anyone knows the solution???

Hai,

it seems the problem with your network card. Coz it is working in wireless and working with your old pc either. So just try this. Go to network adapter properties then right click on the local area connection, then disable it. After some time just enable again then try with your internet connection.

If it is not working try to reinstall your network card driver. It may fix your problem

thank you

hello i understood ur problem.. i m new to dis type of qs. i think it is better to replace the same os or another os. other than dat try to install the drivers of it again n check it.. so besides that i think dat it is better to contact ur internet service provider n tell d problem if u surely hav no prob wit pc. i tink dis will help u atleast 1%. so change the os or replace the drivers.. n it is better that u only find the ip address of ur isp and type it ther as it some modem or pc"s cannot find direct ip address. dats it.

the issue seems unusual. when I had the "constrained get admission to" issue, I rebooted the instant router, and each thing labored positive. in spite of if, the diagnostics provider no longer working is unusual... perhaps are you utilising the computing device in secure mode?
