i forgot the security key to the wireless router, but i have another computer connected to the router. is there anyway i can go on that computer and get the security key? it also says i can enter a flash USB drive with the network settings for the router... would this be easier? and if so, how would i do it?

You can enter the router configuration from the wired computer. Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. This is the default IP address of the router. (If this doesn’t work, check the router docs or the manufacturer website to find the access code.)

• In the login box that appears type in the appropriate User Name and Password. What is “appropriate,” you say? It depends upon the maker of the router. Following are three of the popular makes.

Linksys – Leave the User ID blank – password is “admin”

Netgear - User ID is “admin” – password is “password”

DLink – User ID is “admin” – leave password blank

Once you are in the router, look for the field that has the password. It is often on a tab called "Wireless Settings" or similar wording.

Good luck.

Much easier just to change it to a new key on the 2 computers and the router. just make sure you get it right, or you will have to connect to the router with a cable until you get everyting in sync again.
