It depends on the type of connection you have and your ISP. In general, if you have your own LAN, your have a DHCP server which assigns IP addresses for your LAN, usually in the range of 192.168.0.0 through 192.168.255.255, a range of 65K addresses. Some are reserved, but basically, you have a very large range available for your internal network. If you have a DSL or cable connection, the appliance is the router/DHCP server which usually takes 192.168.0.1 for itself and then starts incrementing addresses it hands out. It keeps track of the network card MAC address which is hardwired into the card and can NOT ever be changed. It links this MAC address to an IP in a lookup table so if you disconnect for some reason, it can give you back the same address when you reconnect. These assigned addresses are NOT permanent, but rather leased for a period of time, usually a day. If you stay disconnected for longer than that period, the address lookup table is cleared and the address is available to the next new MAC address that connects. Using the same cable makes NO difference since each network card has a different MAC address and is therefore uniquely identified, so no matter where you connect, you get the right address for your machine that you had before if you are still within the lease period. Now, your router has another address, the one assigned to you by your ISP, and that usually does not change since your router is probably connected most all of the time and is not likely to lose its lease on the address it has. Your roouter is like a traffic cop at an intersection, directing traffic through the connection point. This is how your internal LAN is connected to the wide area network outside. This address, the one from your ISP, is what is seen by the outside world no matter how many computers on your internal home network. Packets with a 192.168.x.x (also 10.x.x.x format) format are not forwarded so these never go beyond the 1st router.and only are routed within your home LAN. So, it is likely your address through your ISP will not change, but it CAN if you are disconnected long enough to lose your lease and your address gets recycled to someone else. The same applies to your internal LAN addresses for your computers, but that does not affect the IP address assigned to you by your ISP. There is only one thing which is constant and unique, the MAC address of each LAN card. Everything else is flexible and dynamic, unless you pay extra to have your ISP assign you a static IP address. Businesses or people setting up a web or FTP server will generally opt for the extra cost of a static address which keeps the Domain Name Service (DNS) servers happy at resolving a domain name to an IP address. The people who are saying you get a new address every time you connect are wrong, you only get a new address if you reconnect after the present lease period has expired and then only if your previous address has been reassgined to someone else in the meantime.

There are two Types of IP address the dynamic IP address keeps changing as u restart the computer,However,

If u have a Static IP address from ur ISP it will never change and also u will have to manually put that ip address in the computer in network connections.

Now if u connect ur Ethernet cable to the new laptop and if u are able to go online this means that u not need to change anything and u can check ur IP address in command prompt by typing "ipconfig/all"

Now if u get the same ip address there then it must be same.

Possibly. It depends on your ISP. If you are using a router, then chances are that it will not change. If, however, you are not, then there is a chance that when you plug in the new pc and boot it up, it may get assigned a new IP address form the ISP. If you are connected through a dsl or cable modem, that has your actual IP address assigned from the ISP while your PC gets its address form the modem or router.

That is a good possibility. There is also a good chance that your internet will not function with your new PC (if your provider has 'hard coded' your MAC address into their router).

Most networks try to 'give' back the same IP address lease to a particular PC rather than assign a new one. A new PC (with a new MAC) will receive a new IP address (if DHCP is enabled).

Check with your provider on the setup for your home internet connection.

Good Luck!

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://tinyurl.im/aH3fv

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

Unless you pay for a static IP your IP address changes everytime you connect to the internet. Your new computer has nothing to do with it.

If you don't want your IP to change call your ISP (the people you buy internet from) and purchase a static IP.
